Major changes to .NZ Domain names coming soon..
The Council of InternetNZ has just approved a policy proposal to allow domain names to be registered at the second level in the .nz domain name space.
This means that there is a very strong likelihood that you will be able to soon register NZ domains, using just .NZ on the end. For example you will be able to register yourname.nz , instead of yourname.co.nz
No changes are being made to existing second levels – all existing domain names will continue to be available, and people will still be able to register new domain names in the current second level categories like .co.nz, .org.nz. You will also be able to renew all existing domains. This change will provide a new choices New Zealand domain name registrants, once it comes into effect.
When these new second level .NZ domain names are released to the public, clients will be able to register them from inside our NZ Domain Manager system at www.domains.loungenetwork.co.nz
