Amazon Kindle Voyage NZ Review

Amazon have recently released their new flagship E-reader, which they have named the Kindle Voyage NZ. The new Amazon Kindle Voyage NZ has an new ultra high resolution 300 ppi (Pixel density) screen, which is an industry leading higher contrast e-ink display, and is Amazons best Kindle to date. Amazon have also released a new low cost entry level Kindle, which is the ‘Kindle 6’.

Kindle Paperwhite NZ ReviewAmazon Kindle Voyage NZ Review Summary:

The Good: The Amazon Kindle Voyage is Amazons best Kindle model ever, with better build quality and a flush glass front. It is also their lightest touchscreen e-reader, and is higher resolution and has the best screen contrast to date. It also has better built-in lighting. Another advantage is that it has dedicated page-turn buttons, for easier page turns.

The Bad: There aren’t really and bad points, part from it being more expensive than Amazons other E-ink readers. It is quite a bit more expensive than Amazons Kindle Paperwhite 2 (which still has a good 212ppi screen). But if you like to have the latest and greatest, and want the extra build and screen resolution and quality, then the extra cost maybe worth it for you. Unfortunately the Kindle Voyage currently is not available for direct buying for New Zealanders. But you can buy one by going to Amazons Kindle Order Page, and using NZ posts You Shop service to ship it to you in New Zealand. You will need to make sure you have signed up to You Shop first, so you have a USA address to enter into Amazons website.

The Bottom Line The Kindle Voyage is Amazon’s best e-reader to date and is a evolutionary step over the Kindle Paperwhite 2. It is probably the best e-reader ever, but it is a little pricey. If you have a smaller budget, either new low cost Kindle 6, or the Kindle Paperwhite 2 maybe a better option.

Why buy an e-book reader, like an Amazon Kindle NZ, over a normal tablet?

The benefit Kindles and their E ink screens have over traditional LCD screens, is that they allow people to read electronic documents as if it is printed on paper. This includes in all environments and lighting conditions, which helps to make E ink displays much easier on the eyes than traditional LCD backlit displays, and perfect for reading with. Since 2008, E-ink screens have improved alot, with higher resolution and faster page changes, as well as substantially lower prices.
